The Center for Local, State, and Urban Policy published a new research brief called "The Prison Population and Corrections Expenditures." This brief reviews trends in crime rates, incarceration rates, and corrections expenditures. It also examines potential solutions to reduce the cost of corrections while maintaining public safety. This is the final brief in a series called "Michigan Research Briefs: A Series on Key Policy Issues."
