Giving Blueday 2024: a record-setting day of giving

April 3, 2024

On March 13, the Ford School community once again raised the bar for single-day donations and gathered over $47,000 in student support, as part of U-M’s annual Giving Blueday celebration.

A record-setting 170 donors unlocked a $20,000 challenge gift from Ford School alums, Karen (MBA/MPP ‘93) and Bob (MPP ’92) Lewis. Additionally, the Ford School had an incredibly strong showing of support from faculty and staff once again—a tremendous point of pride and an example of how committed the larger Ford School community is.

“We were happy to be the Ford School’s challenge donors this past Giving Blueday,” said Karen Lewis. “Seeing the community come together was truly an inspiration.  Community and connection continue long after graduates leave Weill Hall. The Ford School has always been dedicated to cultivating world class leaders, and we are proud to continue to support this work! “

Ford School alumni took to social media to share why they gave on Giving Blue Day. Alumni board member Kelsey Rhodes (BA’14) wrote, “The Ford School completely shaped the direction of my career. I'm honored to serve on the school's Alumni Board to ensure that more students realize how fulfilling it can be to do advocacy and policy work.”

Charlotte Hovey (MPP’ 25) shared, “For every curiosity I have, the Ford School has offered me an expert who can answer my questions and evoke more.”
