This course examines how globalization affects social and economic policymaking within and between countries and how policies can be designed to both capitalize on the new opportunities created by globalization and ameliorate its most painful consequences. The course draws on theories from economics and political science to elucidate the causes and consequences of globalization. Pressing policy issues associated with globalization are analyzed.
