Africa, a continent endowed with considerable natural and human resources, is facing serious political, social, security, and development problems. As a result, a large part of the population is living in absolute poverty. In the course of a series of seven 3 -hour seminars, students will gain insights and understanding that would enable them to participate in the search for solutions to Africa's problems. The seminar examines the state of Africa's agriculture, hunger and malnutrition issues, health and education, and other constraints to the continents development such as governance, human rights, and the vital role of women. Issues of trade and foreign aid will also be examined. |
